Pool
Due to the impending rain we ended up staying home, but that didn't reduce Brother's annoyance we are happy to report because the pool repairman showed up this evening and plans have been made for the repair and opening of the swimming pool, possibly as early as this weekend. We're thinking about writing out invitations for our first pool party now, to be prepared. We can't wait to hop in, and our penguin siblings are thrilled as well, and are dying to have all of their fellow penguins over for a party. And there Brother goes again shrieking and demanding we back away from the pool. He's really so annoying.

Penguin Waddling Out
As if it isn't bad enough that the human lets the bunnies accompany her when she goes out, now she's letting the penguin waddle along much more than I'm sure is good, good for me, that is. I'm sure that penguin is putting horrible ideas into her head about the pool. I just heard her talking about how nice it would be to have the pool open year round. Only a penguin could have put that notion into her head! Can you imagine the parties that would occur if the pool was open all year? No one would ever get a wink of sleep!

Pool Repairman is Coming!
The pool repairman is coming tomorrow, to hopefully correct what the first repairman did wrong. I hope the zoo has invested in extra locks for the penguins' home, because my penguin siblings are working on party invitations now, in anticipation of the pool being repaired and functional soon. The zoo has a mass of Halloween events planned, which will only make the penguins' fleeing easier if their dwelling isn't secured properly. Really, they'll probably waddle right out disguised as waiters. And do you know how loud penguin parties get? And how much fish they eat? MY FISH!

Diving
The penguins are practicing their diving form, bouncing up and down on the beds and the couches, trying to touch their beaks to their webbed feet. Not a good sign. Diving practice makes me think they are planning on doing a bit of swimming soon, and penguins going swimming can only lead to them inviting other penguins over to take a dip. And the other penguins are likely to be from the zoo, too. I don't know why in the world that place hasn't done something to up their security. Surely penguin escapes can't be good for business.

What to Hide First
I need to to decide what I must hide first, the car keys or the phone. Not only is a country trip being threatened, but now there is the threat that the human will call a pool repairman in who might know what they are doing to fix the mess the first repairman made. Even though it's getting nippy, a repaired pool still has the potential for leading to penguin pool parties and zoo escapes. And all of MY fish being snatched to be served to party guests! All of my fish! I guess that means the phone should go first. Now to figure out where to hide it, and how to silence the ringer so it won't be found.

Pool Update
The pool repairman finally arrived, and I fear that what he did this time might have actually fixed the pool. The human was saying something about how it was looking much better when she limped in after supervising the work. Just perfect. The penguins heard her, and now they're planning a little party! And of course that means inviting all of the zoo penguins to waddle over to celebrate with them. The zoo is along the route to the country! My penguin siblings will probably recruit the human to collect their party guests on the way back if she goes up there this weekend!

Dream
The human just had an alarming dream and came trotting in to share it in the hopes that means it would come true. She dreamed that the green swimming pool suddenly cleared, and became suitable for swimming. And what in the world am I going to do if that does happen? The bunnies and penguins will want to have a party for sure, and I will never get any sleep with the noise of them jumping and splashing about!

Swimming Pool
The swimming pool repairman hasn't showed up for the last two days to finish the job he was hired for, and get the pool into shape for the bunnies and the penguins. Now isn't that just a horrible, horrible shame? Hehehehehehee! That storm actually did me a good turn, taking out the answering machine. Now there is a much greater opportunity to reach the phone before the human on the other end hangs up. Not that the bunnies and penguins can ever prove that I am doing something with the telephone to prevent the repairman from showing up so they can go swimming. Anyway, if they were so worried he might call, why don't they hook up a phone in the human's room where the love to lounge, so they can answer first?

Swimming Pool
The bunnies didn't go to the country today, but I'm almost wishing they had now. Instead, they amused themselves helping the humans with opening the POOL! I was hoping the humans would forget about opening that thing this year, I really was, but after the storm that someone danced up, the cover was damaged and there was no choice. It's filling with the last of the water now. This is going to be a disaster. All that pool does is attract penguins, and provides a place for the bunnies to splash about between gardening. Only disaster will result from it being open. I think I just spotted my penguin siblings with paper for constructing party invitations too! Do you know how disruptive a penguin party is?

Zoo Horrors
You won't believe what our local zoo has decided to do. Honestly, they must have put loons in charge over there or something. They have decided to allow obviously insane humans to get married at the zoo now. That's probably what the construction they have going on is related to. They're probably installing a wedding pavilion or something! Really, what in the world are they thinking, allowing weddings over there? I know some zoos down in Florida do foolish things like that, but really, them doing it here is just a total sign of insanity. I'm sure all it will do is attract my siblings. The penguins are already preening and fluffing their feathers, trying to make sure they look their best for the weddings they're sure that they will be invited to, with their built in formal wear. And if some humans are nutty enough to want to marry at the zoo, it isn't such a stretch that they will want to invite the penguins to attend. This is going to be a disaster, I just know it. And if the penguins get themselves invited to weddings, I am sure the zebras will be next. Nothing good can come of this.

The Zoo
As if things weren't going badly enough, with Betsy taking to train robbery, one of the bears reported passing the zoo while they were out with the humans, and seeing that construction work is being done there, probably to make it nicer for the residents, although really they ought to be working on improving security, with how often various creatures pop over here for parties. At first, I wasn't sure why I needed to know about this, but then it hit me. If work is being done at the zoo, there will be noise, and I'm sure that the penguins will object to that, never mind the red pandas, zebras and who knows what other animals. So, they'll likely be looking for somewhere else to stay until the humans are finished with their zoo improvement project. And why do I have a feeling that my siblings are going to offer this place as temporary accommodations? Well, they better not invite the lions, is all that I can say! My box isn't big enough for one of those!

Today's Evils
The bunnies finally got distracted, so I could slip back on here. Honestly, I don't know what those rabbits are thinking, trying to ban me from blogging, just because I was willing to speak up about the evil their new bushy tailed friend is plotting, with his attempts to turn the front yard into a pumpkin patch. Really. what will become of the neighbors if this squirrel succeeds in what he is up to? The squirrel isn't at the top of today's evils, though. That honor goes to the new penguin movie that was just released. Really, what in the world were the film studios thinking this year, first releasing a film about the head bunny and now this work? I hate to think of the number of penguins who have already fled various zoos to camp out in the theaters and watch this film. I'm sure the smell of their fishy treats and seafood sodas will be murder to get out of the carpets. And even worse, the polar bears managed to get their paws on a large stack of magazines today, devoted to the construction of various articles of clothing out of WOOL! Really, was this Be Kind to Animals Who Live In Cold Climates Day or something?

Penguin Issues
The penguins sent an email to their penguin friends in Florida today, wanting to see when they can come up for another gathering, only to hear back from the penguins that they are booked up for the next few weeks, attending weddings. Apparently some humans, humans I can assume are friendless, since they handed out wedding invitations to random birds, decided to invite them to their wedding. And not one but several humans did this! Have you ever heard of such foolishness? And, of course, now my penguin siblings are all fired up. They got the idea that they ought to attend weddings too, and are now composing an ad advertising the virtues of penguins, and offering themselves as attendants for weddings, siting their already tailor-made suits and tails and the classic timelessness of their black and white color scheme. They've even offered up their chicks for morning weddings, claiming with their grey feathers they're a perfect touch, and they're much better behaved than any human child. What in the world am I going to do if someone hires them? I know they won't share their fish pay with me!

Rabbits Are Ready
The rabbits are ready for Nick the Cat and his family, and, I have to admit, after seeing them hopping about in the backyard, practicing maneuvers with their little weapons, that I am looking forward to seeing it, even if the end result of that cat being defeated will be my being put to work at various cottage improvement projects. Several of the bunnies are frighteningly good with those weapons. Nick is going to come out of this looking like a skunk for sure, and possibly smelling like one. The bunnies have recruited the penguins into their plans to repel Nick and his relations, and they have been hard at work all day, making something so foul-smelling that I want to remove my nose when I catch just a whiff. I wonder if I could videotape it when Nick faces off with the rabbits? I'm sure it would win some award for humor.

If the Zoo Asks
If the zoo asks, I was here all day, being forced to work by a batch of rabbits. I didn't even have a moment to look outside. They barely gave me a moment to drop my my food bowl to grab a quick bite before forcing me back to work. I was totally occupied, and thus could have nothing to do with the penguin disaster that hit today. The human had to go by the zoo not once but twice to get those goodie bag coupons. She says it was due to some sort of mix-up, but I know the real reason. I spotted a penguin waddling in to talk to the other penguins, holding an email from the zoo residents, asking for a second trip, since too many penguins were in residence to comfortably fit into the car, hidden under a blanket in the floorboard, in one trip. Two trips, and two car loads of penguins. I am afraid to look outside!

Horrors Continue
The horrors continue to come. The human is popping by the zoo, first thing in the morning, to pick up one of the last items for those awful sacks! The ZOO! I can just imagine what will happen with her dropping by there. While she's inside, picking up things, a crew of penguins will undoubtedly hide in the car to get a free ride over here. I'm sure my penguin siblings are up to something. They've been waddling around acting entirely too happy lately, and now I know why. They must have a party planned for the weekend, and this is how they're going to get their guests here! I won't get a wink of sleep due to party noise the entire time!

Goodies and the Penguins
Sniff, sniff, sniff. I thought today would be marginally safer, with those lazy mailmen taking the day off. I really did. No mail at least meant that the human wouldn't get any horrible reunion materials that way, or at least I thought it meant that. Little did I know that those people in the little brown trucks were still trotting around, and one of them dropped by here with a giant envelope of materials from the local aquarium, with enough brochures and coupons for every bag! This aquarium has just opened a new penguin area! Needless to say, my penguin siblings were thrilled to see the brochures, and now they are lounging by the rabbits, hard at work on party invitations. They figure while the humans are having their parties, they will just invite all of these penguins down for a little pool party. Just perfect. Not only will I have to deal with the human's reunion in a few months, that will undoubtedly encourage nightmarish growth of that tree, but I'll have to put up with the penguins, taking over the pool and partying forever! Do you know how much noise a penguin party creates?

Reunion Work
I'm afraid I have alarming horrors to report in regards to that human's planned family reunion. She's making plans for goodie bags, to lag to it, in order to lure more people in with promises of gifts. As part of this goodie bag assembling, she's been writing various places, requesting donations, based on something that she read in one of her magazines for planners of such horrifying events. I'm very frightened to report that she has already received a positive reply from the local zoo, offering her coupons! Really, doesn't the zoo have enough troubles with repeated penguin escapes, due to my siblings scheduling parties? What if the human's reunion decides to schedule a group zoo trip due to those coupons? Every penguin in the place will surely use such a thing as the perfect opportunity to fly the coup, and trot over here to hang around! I will be up to my pointed ears in penguins!

Continuing Horrors, Almost Too Many to Count
Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, but I didn't want to frighten all of you too much with the continuing horrors. We have had more snow, and you don't want to think about how that particular bit of weather is making the polar bears act. I hope all of the sheep in the area have had time to get wool insurance is all that I can say about that. And then, to make matters worse, the water on top of the pool cover is frozen, making the perfect skating rink for the penguins. They've been zooming around out there, and I know that I've spotted a few extra penguins that I'm sure were listed on the zoo's website as escapees. I really ought to see about scouting out a better hiding place, in case the zoo comes around, looking for those fugitive birds. And then there is the horror of the human's work on the family reunion. But I will share that tomorrow, so you won't be too frightened to sleep tonight.

Photo Issues Continue
My siblings are still plotting that group photo, and now they are wanting online to visit wikipedia, to look up the best settings. That's why I couldn't post yesterday. Really, they're totally out of hand. I don't know what I'm going to do. The rabbits are insistent that they must have their photos in the garden, and the penguins are just as insistent about using the pool. And now the penguins are trying to recruit the stingray and the otter to their cause! The one thing they all agree on, though, is that I should share these photos. What am I going to do if the penguins win? The chlorine in the pool will ruin my nice fur!
