Cafes
We were hard at work, getting the human more books, when we saw the most interesting article! It appears that a group of bunnies are now employed at a cafe in Japan, helping out poor, stressed out humans! And even better, these rabbits have led a batch of cats away from a life of sloth and laziness, and onto the path of virtue and work, with the felines going to work in a cafe next door! Let's hear it for these paragons of bunny virtue and their newly converted feline friends! Maybe we should ask our leader the Easter Bunny to declare these industrious cats honorary BUNNIES!

Must Hide, Must Hide Tonight!
I have to find a hiding place right away. Surely there is somewhere good that the bunnies won't think of checking for me. Oh, it is truly a nightmare. The humans lagged a large pile of wood to the country this morning, and they have their bags packed to return there tomorrow to work. WORK! And I heard the bunnies talking a bit ago about capturing me, with two bunnies on my front paws and two on my back to drag me along to assist with this work. Where in the world can I hide?

The Pool
Still no sign of the pool repairman. I don't like how the bunnies keep looking suspiciously at me, and then at the phone, though. I think they might be getting the idea in their fluffy heads that I was the only one near the telephone at the times the repairman might have called, and thus most likely to have said something to prevent his showing up. So now they are looking for my leash, and planning a nice, long session in front of the laptop, watching videos on WORK! They have the notion that since I might have done something to run off the repairman then that means I should be forced to labor, fixing the pool myself!

Work Looms
I'm afraid work is looming hard on the horizon. My poor paws. I've taken such care with them, keeping them nice and soft, and now they're to be ruined by forced labor! The bunnies hopped around a bit ago, to measure my tail for a brush, and to order me to report in the morning to be sized for a hammer! They're serious about making me work! They've even been talking about how nice it would be to spend Christmas at the country cottage, so you know they'll push these repairs like crazy. I'm doomed! Doomed to work! The only thing that might save me now is if the human feels bad enough not to make the trip.

Next Week
I'm doomed! Doomed, Doomed, Doomed! The humans are talking about visiting the country next week for work purposes, despite the fact that our human is still under the weather. And, since she's under the weather, of course the bunnies are falling all over themselves to offer to help, and to fill in at any work she doesn't feel up to doing. They're even telling her that she can lounge on those sheets that match her jammies if she wants, while they do everything. And, of course, they don't expect to do everything alone! They have already hopped by to give me my assignment, checking the roof for loose shingles, prying damaged flooring, and painting, possibly with a brush tied to me tail! I'm going to be forced to work!

Posting Signs
The human went to hang up signs advertising that sale today, and the rabbits offered to accompany her, and assist. I'm not sure how they planned to help with the hanging of signs, since as bunnies they're very short, but that wasn't what was so alarming. The alarming part is the number of libraries the human was hanging these signs in. Libraries filled with books on WORK! And you know what those bunnies came hopping home with. Really, I think I am going to spend the week in hiding. If I could roll the container with my food into the closet, I'm sure I could hide undetected on the top shelf until the safety of Monday morning.

Making Mice Write
I have to force those mice to compose a letter to their cousin right away, so I can get vacation planning scheduled. Oh, the horror I am facing, and fleeing to visit the mice's cousin is the only way I will be safe. The humans are planning another work trip to the country next month and you know how fond the rabbits are of anything involving work. If I don't have a vacation planned, they'll capture me for sure! If I can schedule a trip, though, and I'm sure the bunnies would want to go as well, seeing as it's the season for that big food festival when vegetables are out full force, then I will be safe! Now where is a pen and paper, or do you suppose I ought to have the mice go with emailing their cousin?

Today's Bad Luck Arrived on Schedule
Despite my attempts to dodge it, and orders to the bunnies to reject any attempts by those horrible relations of Nick the Cat to drop of bad luck deliveries, the rotten luck made it through. The human dropped by the local Habitat for Humanity, likely in the company of a rabbit, and you won't believe what she came back with. Fabric! Books on Quilting! Books on WORK! I now have bunnies and polar bears busily reading, and I am sure plotting who knows how much trouble for me. I can't believe this. Bad luck repellent. I must invest in a large bottle of bad luck repellent right away.

Suing the Movies
I must hold the movie theaters to blame for my impending suffering. I swear, I don't know what those places are thinking. Apparently they let rabbits hop in to catch films whenever they want, without charge. A bunny that caught the early showing of that Smurf movie yesterday, and who was hopping home to his burrow after the film when the humans and bunnies were headed to the theater dropped by today. He's been lounging in a chair in the back yard, munching carrots and chattering with my siblings, discussing how obviously this film is a sign that cats are supposed to work, and how something must be done with me right away to put me in a job. I don't know what I am going to do. The notion of employment as a magical portal tester is being tossed out now. Really, what sort of job security is there in that?

Movies
The human went to the movies today, and let a batch of rabbits hop along. At first I was happy, since it got them out of the house and I knew their leader's film wasn't airing at the theater they were heading for. Then they came hopping home with the happy news that the movie they saw featured a CAT! And horror of horrors, they say this cat was working, employed as a Smurf-catcher! So now the bunnies have the idea in their heads that working is a natural thing for cats, and that something must be done about me immediately to establish me with gainful employment. I have tried to tell them that there isn't much of a future here in Smurf-catching, and that Belgian felines are more suited to that sort of work, with the number of little blue creatures littering their country, but I don't think they're listening. And they say I don't specifically have to do that job, but I should be doing some sort of work. They are even talking about checking the help wanted ads in the classified section, in hopes of arranging employment for me!

Sue the Home Improvement Store
First thing Monday, I have to file suit against the home improvement store. You won't believe what that awful place did this evening. I suppose I should have expected something, though, with how rabbit friendly they are, but still, I didn't think they would do something this horrible. They sold the bunnies SIX pieces of wood! Six pieces of wood, all cut into nice, slices, just perfect for poking on the walls without additional work required. It will speed up the work at the country cottage tremendously, and you know those bunnies are going to be trying to draft me to help them with it. What was the home improvement store thinking? I will sue them, and their bird residents too, for not lifting a feather to prevent this disaster!

Today's Bad Luck Report
I haven't seen them, but I was disturbed all day by laughter, coming from Nick's relations, who are still camped out on our neighbor's porch. Really, I don't know why our neighbors haven't done something, like evicting those horrible felines, but perhaps they are afraid that if they try, one will amuse itself strolling across their path and giving them horrible luck too. Now that I think of it, that's probably why they've taken to crawling out of their side window, instead of using their perfectly good front door. Anyway, the humans lagged a batch of building supplies to the country cottage today, in preparation for work. My doom is fast approaching. I've already seen the rabbits, starting the search for my leash. And to make matters even worse, the human stopped by a homeless shelter, that she had hopes would have some of those games she likes so, and what happened but she was tackled by a homeless dog of the teddy species, with a tale of woe about his homelessness. I think you can guess how that ended up. I now have 695 siblings.

Whistling
No horrors have struck so far today, but the bunnies are whistling. That alarms me to no end. The visited the place where that large mouse has his nest a few years ago, and met these short people, who had an alarming tendency to whistle while working. So now the bunnies have decided to take up making that annoying noise as they hop about, plotting work, I am sure for me to do. I don't like the way they keep looking at me, and then discussing various work topics for the country cottage at all, and I especially don't like the whispering I caught about looking for my leash, and how nice it would be to go up there bright and early in the morning. I wonder if I have time to find a good hiding place before they pounce?

Continuing Dryer Horrors
The humans took the old dryer off today, to a human who can hopefully fix it, so it can be moved to the country cottage. No good can come of them having additional appliances up there. A washer is sure to be next, and can only lead to them being able to stay for longer, if the humans don't run out of clothing. Anyway, the bunnies were very excited when they came hopping back from this drop-off. It turns out that there are several cats who dwell with, and are likely employed by the repair human! These cats WORK! Oh, it was frightening to see how excited the bunnies were by this. They're making plans to hop back now, to talk to these cats, and learn how they were converted to the wonders of hard work, industry and a rabbit like lifestyle. And you know why they want to know this. So they can make me convert as well!

Washing and Drying
The humans have a new dryer, obtained through a relation. They got it put in this weekend, resulting in my jailing for an intolerable amount of time while they were moving it. As soon as it was in, the bunnies just had to hop up to it, too, possibly in preparation for a giant amount of laundering of bunny items. And would you believe what they found? Cat prints! Apparently some poor feline.... Oh, it's almost too horrible to print! Some poor feline was made to work, running this dryer in its last location! Naturally the rabbits jumped right on this, and now they're planning to track this cat down, to find out how it was converted to an industrious, hard-working, possibly rabbit-like creature, so they can do the same thing to me, I am sure!

Maybe I Should Pray for Rain
I'm trying to decide if I should pray for rain or not. Undoubtedly if we get it, it will be like the last few times, with trees down and threats to power, but if there is no rain, the odds are good that I will be captured bright and early in the morning and drug off to the country cottage to work. And, as if work isn't bad enough, there's that new bunny family that is living up there. I'm sure my rabbit siblings will want to drop by their burrow and meet them, and they will undoubtedly expect me to go along on this visit. Paying a social call on rabbits. I can't think of anything more annoying. First I'll be squished into their burrow, and then you know they won't have good refreshments, just carrots and tomatoes liberated from Farmer Turley. And I will be there forever, too, because my bunny siblings can chatter all day about rabbit issues. Maybe I ought to start praying for rain now. Surely the electric company has things fixed so we won't loose power again. How many trees are left to fall down anyway?

Heard the Bunnies
I was strolling to my food dish a bit ago, when I heard the bunnies plotting for this weekend. Plotting to go to the COUNTRY! They got a copy of a book on home improvement from the bookstore this afternoon, and of course they're eager to try out everything they found in the book. And, of course, they have plans to make me assist them with this. I already spotted a bunny getting my leash, so I can be captured and drug along for work purposes. I would start looking for a good hiding place now, but I fear it's too late. There are bears, lurking by all of the best spots, undoubtedly recruited by the bunnies to make sure that I don't try to escape work! I'm DOOMED! How in the world will I explain this to other cats? A number of them live up in the country. What in the world will they think if they see me working?

Traffic Jam
Nick's family continues with their harassment. You will never believe what they have thought up this time. One of them is camped out, right in the middle of the path leading to the bus stop, sitting there, ready to cross the path of any who try to venture down that way. And as everyone knows, bad luck strikes as soon as one of those felines crosses your path. There was a traffic jam of dogs and humans backed up due to that cat! So now I will be forced to take the long way around to get to the bus for a ride to the courthouse. And worse, the bunnies don't take that trail to hop to the library to pick up books on work. They prefer the creek trail, so they haven't been inconvenienced at all. Really, I can't believe this. And where are the police to cite this cat for obstructing a public pathway and impeding the free flow of traffic? That's what I want to know!

Nick Report
No sign of Nick, or his horrible family. Perhaps the bunnies and their vegetables have frightened that lot off before they could present us with more bad luck. And I have suddenly realized there might be another benefit to the trouble Nick and his relations have amused themselves causing this week. It means the bunnies are a bit nervous about leaving the house, thinking of all of the trouble that cat could cause while they're away. Of course, that does mean I have to deal with them, but on the up side, it means they can't capture me and drag me to the country to WORK! Perhaps I have finally found an upside to Nick's harassment and infliction of bad luck.

Horrors! Horrors! Horrors!
I should report someone for cat cruelty. Oh, the horrors that I have experienced today. The seed envelopes are ready for the seed to be dumped in, and little seals stuck on to close them. The reunion booklet is ready for stapling. The CDs are burned and ready for labeling. So much work, and whenever I thought it was all done, a bunny would hop over with a little checklist, to present me with another chore. Tomorrow's delightful schedule includes stuffing goodie bags for children, and whatever additional tasks the bunnies can think up. They're snoozing now, and I'm sure getting more horrible ideas in their fluffy little heads!
