Today

The human took a couple of the bunnies to that funeral this evening, to assist in entertaining children. Betsy begged to go as well, since she heard a baby that she was sure would be in possession of candy, would be there, but luckily the human vetoed that. Anyway, the bunnies had a lovely time, watching videos starring our mouse sibling's cousin, and getting hugs. Did you know bunnies love hugging. The oddest thing I've ever heard of. And, to make matters worse, to reward them for their assistance, the human purchased a pack of SEED, table queen squash, as a reward!

Doomed! Doomed!! DOOMED!!!

Oh, the horrors that I have seen today. A former neighbor died, and the humans had to go to the funeral home, but first they had to stop by the store to get a plant to take. The bunnies offered to hop along, and help with lagging the plant out to the car. I knew I should have been suspicious. Letting them near vegetation is never a good idea, but never did I dream that things would end like this. They got the plant at the local grocery, you see, and the floral section just happens to be right near the seed sale! While the clerk was putting a ribbon on the plant, and sprucing up its pot, the bunnies did a bit of shopping. They had a large sack of seed packets when they hopped home. Here's what they got; another giant pack of beans, a pack of pumpkin, three packs of cucumbers, a pack of watermelon, three packs of cherry tomatoes, four packs of beefsteak tomatoes, a pack of table queen squash, four packs of yellow squash, two packs of zucchini, a pack of cantaloupe and a pack of peppers. We are doomed! And there is still plenty more seed left, so I'm sure they'll go shopping again soon!

Flowers

I'm not sure if Nick the Cat's relations have found a way to deliver bad luck from the shelter of our neighbor's porch, or if this is a continuation of the bad luck that arrived on Sunday. I suppose it's a continuation of that, or at least I hope it is. The human called the local flower shop, a den of rabbit collaborators if ever there was one, to order a plant for that funeral. I was okay with that, since she didn't go down there, or take any bunnies down there, which would surely lead to plant purchases for themselves, and then I saw the card the human had written out, telling them what to put on the plant. She had my name signed to it! MY NAME! So now, I'm sure I'm on the hook for part of the cost of that plant! I had never even met the deceased! Why should I be forced to pay for a flower, just because my name was forged on a plant card?

The Horrors! The Sunday Horrors!

Oh, the horrors I have experienced today. I suggest you send all small children, kittens and sensitive souls away before reading this. I will wait.

Are they gone? Okay, if they aren't I am not to blame. I warned you. First, the humans got the news that a relation had managed to schedule their demise, thus necessitating them rushing off to a funeral down in Georgia. And naturally, my siblings decided to go as well. At least the rabbits managed to look properly mournful while loitering in the back seat, with their ears dropped and suitably funeral appropriate expressions on their faces. Betsy, on the other hand, had an expression of glee as she polished her pie spoon and fork. Georgia, as I'm sure you all know is well known for their peaches and pecans, and of course those tree products are good for one thing in that bear's opinion, pie, possibly with large helpings of ice cream on the side. I am afraid to think of how many people were left with only empty pie plates to show for their baking, while those humans were in the funeral home, and Betsy was unsupervised. Then, on their way home, the car stopped on the humans. They had to get some sort of giant truck to drag it the rest of the way home. My napping was totally wrecked, with the noise that thing made when it pulled the car home. And it might return too, to drag the vehicle off to the repair shop if the humans can't get it to start again, so I suppose I ought to count tomorrow's nap, or possibly Tuesday's as a total waste too!

MUst Do Something Right Away

I have to do something right away, to get out of here. I wonder how long it will take for the mice to pack their wardrobe for a trip to visit their rodent relations in Florida? I'm sure we could catch the bus. I could even hide the mice in a suitcase, to save on the fare. I just know I have to get out of here right away. The human has a relative who has reported that one of her in-laws or possibly an outlaw happens to be in their deathbed. I'm sure a funeral is in the works, which can only lead to trouble for me. This human relation has a number of canine and feline offspring, and I heard the human saying something a bit ago about how they ought to offer to help her out by dog and cat sitting, while she's tending to the funeral mess. I am sure the cats would be fine, of course. They've even conned this human into building them their own feline apartment, after all. The dogs, on the other hand, I am not so sure about. What if they're like my other dog cousins, completely undisciplined canines? Of course, perhaps since they have cats for siblings, they're okay, but still, I'm not sure I want to take the chance. I think I better tell those mice to start packing for a trip right away.

Etiquette and the Bill

The bill for those flowers that I had the etiquette question about arrived today, which wasn't unexpected since the florist is only five or six blocks away. The problem is that the bill for this plant was almost forty dollars! My name was placed on it! Does this mean that I have to come up with cash towards this bill now? Is the florist going to come after me for my part?

Etiquette Question

I have an etiquette question that I hope someone can help me with. The humans had a death in the family this weekend, and naturally, they sent flowers to the funeral. I happened to be strolling by as the human was placing this order, and at the last moment, before I could do a thing, she told the florist to add my name to the gift card. The way I understand it, people who have their name on plant gift cards are supposed to contribute towards the purchase of said plant. So, does this mean that I am on the hook for this flower, even though it sure wasn't my idea? I suspect the human forged my name in the funeral guest book as well. Does that create more of an obligation for me? Now will I have to purchase a sympathy card or something?

That is NOT a Flower!

The bunnies are sending a what the claim is a floral offering to the funeral of our human's uncle. Well, I would like to inform those rabbits that a PEPPER plant is not a flower, and those packets of flower and vegetable seeds that they poked in with the pot don't count for floral offerings either. And to make matters worse, they signed my name onto this package as well, along with forging the human's name. Could this horrible forgery get me taken as an accessory to gardening crimes?

Human News

The human had an uncle to die this morning, so my postings might bit erratic for a couple of days. I'm being threatened with the humans having a relative showing up for the funeral who claims an allergy to cats. Well, I am very sorry, but this is my home, and I was here first. I am not going to jail like I did when the last relative died. So I might be tied up defending my territory for a bit.
