Dirt

We have high hopes of getting dirt, to assemble our new garden bed in the pallets tomorrow. Oh, it's going to be so NICE to get things together. And we might go to the country this weekend, too, and you know there are a ton of plants up there we need to get for planting purposes. We're just going to have such a good time with this. The only problem we bunnies see at the moment is that delinquent brother of ours and his continuous complaints. Really, we don't know what his problem is. Now he's objecting to where we plant to put these pallets, claiming that they might overrun his catnip patch. Really, we are the gardeners here. We tend that patch for him. He just enjoys the crop. He has no right to try to use it to prevent our garden plans.

Garage

I could swear that I posted about this, but I did some looking and I guess not. Back during all of those storms that Nick the Cat and his relations amused themselves afflicting us with, those horrible cats managed to knock over our neighbor's garage with a tree. Now they entertain themselves from time to time, trotting up the street to the property to admire their handiwork and laugh themselves silly at the damage they have done. I suspect they have gotten their paws on catnip, too, catnip that I'm sure that they've snatched from my patch, because they sound suspiciously giddy to me. Really, knocking over garages and robbing their fellow felines. Why in the world hasn't the law done something, and drug all of those rotten cats off to jail?

Catnip and Cucumbers

To make matters worse, the feeding with that milky mixture is encouraging cucumber growth, and they're heading right for my catnip patch! On of them even tried to grab on to some of the leaves of my crop this afternoon. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to defend the catnip from the bunnies' invasive plants? Perhaps helping them head for the neighbors' dwelling is the lesser of two evils.

Catnip

Good news on the catnip front! I've got a large crop sprouting. The only bad thing is it's sprouting right where the rabbits had plans to dig for part of their beds. Needless to say, they're hopping mad about that, and are making plans to transplant my crop to a less desirable location.

Disavowing any Responsibility

I totally disavow any responsibility for this. On the up side today, my catnip crop started to sprout, which is excellent given the short time it's been in the bag. On the down side, though, that wrongly named thing called catmint is also sprouting. And to make matters even worse, the bunnies poked both types of sprouts into the same bowl! I think it was an attempt to keep me from weeding out their mint. I just hope the neighbors know I had nothing to do with that catmint.

35 Bags of Seed

The bunnies added another bag of seed, which wouldn't seem frightening, but this bag is a FREEZER bag! Here's what they've got in it: Roma tomatoes, zucchini, not a value pack, but certainly big enough that it should have been labeled value, sugar peas, a value pack of Ace 55 tomatoes, more broccoli and a frightening number of pumpkin seed. They also put in some flowers: gypsophila, morning glory and more larkspur, and in a miracle, I convinced them to put in a pack of my catnip! Now, do you think that the reading I've been doing online has been exaggerating a bit about the ability of catnip to spread? It did seem to be a rather large pack.

Found the Seed

The missing catnip seed has turned up. Apparently those bunnies returned it at a different store than the one where it was purchased. This second store just happens to be right by the topsoil and plant store, too, so I know it was a rabbit that was to blame for sure. The human was able to snag five more packs of seed, bringing me up to nine packs of catnip seed total. Does that seem like a nice start for a farm?

Rabbits

The bunnies who accidentally purchased the catnip seeds are refusing to return them. The seed display is still totally without catnip thanks to those rotten rabbits. What in the world am I going to do? Four packs of seed is nowhere near enough to start a farm! How can I get the seed back that those bunnies accidentally purchased? Honesty, they're rabbits! Catnip is for CATS, not bunnies! They should return it post haste so my farming can get back on track!

Catnip Farming

How much space should I be demanding from the bunnies for my hopeful catnip crop? They're trying to insist that they need extensive space for their carrots, and goodness knows how much space they're going to take up with those 1000 squash seeds. So, where can I poke the catnip? I do have some already, of course, but it's just one small clump, not enough to really start a proper market for my product. So, how many carrots do you think I should be planning to evict in order to open my farm for crops?

Garden

Perhaps the bunnies are right about their plans for a garden, and perhaps I should just go ahead, be the bigger feline, admit my error, and offer to assist with the garden. Some catnip seeds were just discovered on sale for only a quarter a pack! The human only got one pack tonight, but I'm planning to send her back tomorrow with part of the woodpecker's rent money for this month to stock up. Now to work out how to package my crop for sale once it's harvested. Their are a lot of other cats around here, who I'm sure would be excellent customers.
