Nail
We were hoping to go up to the country last night, or bright and early this morning. We have a woodpecker up there who is interested in renting a hole and we were hoping to show it to him. Or possibly to upsell him to a birdhouse. Only the humans had someone take a look at the truck's tires before they got ready to leave only to learn that one of them had been poked with a NAIL! So they couldn't leave last night and by the time the tire was fixed this morning, it was too late to head up there. How the tire ended up with a nail in it is what we would like to know. That tire has been nowhere near any nails! We are suspicious that this was some horrible form of kitty sabotage, possibly to keep us from renting out some property. Well, if Brother was responsible, we have lovely news for him. Now the humans are thinking of spending all of next weekend in the country since they didn't get to go today. Just think of all of the renting we will be able to do with a long weekend to work!

Mountain Bear Issue
The human was very upset today due to this poor mountain bear, little more than a cub really, who nipped a tourist, and was then captured and killed by the park service, despite a big effort on Facebook to save the poor thing. I do feel sorry for the bear, who was probably just trying to flee in anticipation of Betsy dropping in, but the human was threatening to boycott the park, which might have cut into her genealogy efforts big time. I'm afraid she's came up with a worse plan, though. She is going to fictionalize this, and put it in one of her bear mysteries. Just wonderful. I hope that park is insured. They were worried about the annoying human who got nipped suing, I'm sure. Well, they should have worried more about this. The other bears weren't happy to begin with about what happened to this poor bear, and were in negotiations with the woodpecker for suitable payback. Now the human will probably need to go there for research, and they will be able to give my tenant a ride to peck apart park headquarters instead of him having to take the trouble to fly. And then there's Betsy. She was ticked too, thinking that this might make the other bears nervous and more difficult for her to hunt them down for robbery purposes. Now she can torment the poor park for that, and for research purposes. They are doomed. I'll bet in a few weeks, they will be wishing the pesky tourist who claimed he was nipped had fallen over the waterfall the trail led to, before this all happened.

iTunes
I was checking the human's iTunes downloads a bit ago and it's alarming to see how many of them relate to that awful, awful tree. What's even worse, though, is that someone has actually put together a podcast on woodpeckers and woodpecker eviction! Does anyone know how I can go about filing a complaint with iTunes about offering such a horrible program without an explicit label? I'm sure it would greatly offend my tenants if they knew of it.

Speaking of the Woodpecker
Speaking of my woodpecker tenants, I just found that youtube has a woodpecker channel, running woodpecker videos. Am I required to offer my tenants internet access so they can watch these woodpecker programs? Right now they just have access to basic cable but they're making noise about wanting educational viewing as well, which they claim these woodpecker programs would provide.

Woodpeckers
Is it legal to require tenants to list their specific species when they're filling out a rental application, or could they potentially try claiming some sort of discrimination? The grandhuman is a bit upset that my woodpecker tenant has invited a batch of his woodpecker friends to move in here and install holes right next to his. Of course, I'm thrilled to have more tenants, but the grandhuman is complaining terribly. So, I was thinking if I knew the woodpeckers' species, well, did you know there are some woodpeckers you absolutely can't evict no matter what?
