Beginning Garden Horrors Continued

My paws were too sore from being forced to aid in the construction of Welcome signs to do much typing last night, so I couldn't properly share with you the horrors of yesterday. The paws are a bit better this morning, though, so I thought you should be warned. Please lock all small children away now before they can see and become frightened. The bunnies got their paws on more plants yesterday! They are now the proud owners of four pepper plants, and twelve tomatoes! And this is just the start of the gardening season, too! If it's just started, and they already have that many plants, who knows what might happen next! The price for the plants was very reasonable, too, and due to a mix-up on their ticket, the humans might have to go out to the store again in a few days. The rabbits are sure to hop along and get additional plants. Oh, we are all doomed! And they were so inspired by these things that they're starting to talk about sprouting SEED next! Sprouting seed. Oh, woe is me! And what in the world is going to happen when the Easter Bunny arrives and sees their industry? He's sure to lavish rich rewards upon them, rich SEED rewards! Our poor neighbors. I suppose I ought to drag some crates down to their house in a bit, for they will surely need to start packing soon.

That is NOT a Flower!

The bunnies are sending a what the claim is a floral offering to the funeral of our human's uncle. Well, I would like to inform those rabbits that a PEPPER plant is not a flower, and those packets of flower and vegetable seeds that they poked in with the pot don't count for floral offerings either. And to make matters worse, they signed my name onto this package as well, along with forging the human's name. Could this horrible forgery get me taken as an accessory to gardening crimes?

My Cat Mother

My cat mother had to be drug to the vet for mouth ulcers, and I totally hold the rabbits responsible. I just know they tricked her into eating a pepper, possibly a habenaro, so they could get the SEEDS! I swear I've got to find directions for bunny snares to restrain them somewhere online. I shudder to think of what they might try to feed my cat mom while the human's away.

Possible Nutty Neighbor

Does anyone know how to report a neighbor to the local funny farm? I'm afraid he rather foolishly brought a batch of peppers over yesterday. I'm not sure if it was a peck or not, and they certainly weren't pickled, but they are alarmingly large, and are, I'm sure, just packed full of seeds. Wouldn't you think he would know better than to leave something like that where rabbits can get their paws on them? He's just encouraging those bunnies to garden more. Perhaps he feels safe because he lives across the street and thinks the garden can't get him over there. Obviously, a sign of total insanity is all that I can say. A mere street is no protection from the monster garden.

Tomato Festival Today

The tomato festival should be ASHAMED! They let my delinquent rabbit siblings actually obtain produce this afternoon! The bunnies came hopping back with alarmingly large Mr. Stripey, Cherokee Purple and Pink Tomatoes, along with a large amount of turkey beans and a habenaro pepper. I shudder to think of how many seeds they will get out of their purchases, which is just why they purchased them. Really, does the country have to assist the bunnies in their delinquency? Or maybe it's a plot to keep them here and safely out of the hair of the poor Farmers Turley?

Tomatoes and Peppers

The tomato seedlings are doing very well in the new place the rabbits stuck them in, so well, in fact, that the poked out a ton more of tomatoes and peppers to start. I suspect there were at least forty or fifty of the little things, and I know those tomatoes are the delinquent sorts!

Wednesday Planting Report

The rabbits moved some peppers, I suspect jalepenos, outside today, along with more cucumbers, a few watermelon and a tomato seedling that was hanging out with the watermelon. How bad of a sign do you suppose it is that many of the tomatoes that they popped out last week have second, third and in a few cases fourth sets of leaves? So many of those tomatoes are of the indeterminate kind, too, which is the delinquent plant of the tomato world. Oh, and all of the cucumbers have second leaves, and many are working on their third leaves. I try not to think of the zucchini, and the squash is growing alarmingly along with the pumpkins. The watermelon looks nice too, in the latest terrible news for our neighbors. I just know it's going to head for their house as soon as it gets a few leaves on it. I just hope they don't have pay per view up there.

Produce Market

You would think produce markets would fear rabbits, but I'm very sad to say that our local produce market welcomes bunnies with open arms. Obviously lunatics are in charge of it or something. Either that or they have strong grudges against our neighbors there. The bunnies managed to get their paws on 12 big tomato plants today along with 4 big pepper plants. They think these bigger plants will provide lovely encouragement to all of their little seedlings. I shudder to think about what those seedlings might be encouraged to do by having big plant role models.

Pepper

The grandhuman did something spectacularly foolish, and may I say right now that I am in no way, shape or form to blame for it? Would you believe that she actually got a pepper, and left it unattended with all of the little seeds showing? Needless to say, the bunnies attacked it, and now there are I would guess fifty+ pepper seeds tucked into their bags for starting. And they didn't even get all of the seeds out either! What in the world will I do if they all sprout?
