Still Awful Weather

We're awaiting snow now, and now the forecast is calling for more on Monday.  We have never seen such horrible, awful weather forecasts in our lives!  We haven't been out of the house since we believe it was Monday or Tuesday, and we fear at this rate it will be weeks before we get to hop out.  Really, isn't there something we could give the groundhogs to make them stop this awful weather?  Do you think they would take quilts?

More Bad Weather

More bad weather is looming.  The forecast is calling for snow and ice for tomorrow, and we don't like how the groundhogs are chuckling and giving each other high fives.  Does anyone know of a bribe we could come up with fast to avert this new horror?

Worried

We're a bit worried.  Snow is threatening this weekend, along with freezing weather, but we were hoping to hop out to get a few more siblings.  How can we do that if it is snowing?  Do you think if we offer our groundhog siblings a bribe, they can give us a few days' respite?  Maybe we could promise to take in a needy groundhog if they do?

No Snow

We didn't get snow, thank goodness, but the groundhogs are looking at the calendar and keep chuckling, and pointing to a date we can't see because their heads are in the way.  We are very nervous and fearing the worst.

Still Hopping Mad

We are still hopping mad about our poor murdered tree and our evil neighbor.  We are considering options for dealing with him now.  Our current favorite amongst the options is to recruit groundhogs for a little tunneling action.  We could pay them in peas, which are cheap, and we know where to find a batch who are likely in need of work.  We're thinking a few strategically placed tunnels could take out his flowerbeds and undermine his foundation nicely.  We just need to find a book on seige warfare to learn the best tunnel placement routes now.

Groundhogs

One of our groundhog siblings' friends came waddling over the other day. Apparently the groundhogs are still panicked over that lawsuit against them, and are seeking any hiding place they can find to avoid process servers. Brother will not be pleased at all, but we have opened up the pool house to them. And in return, the refugee groundhogs are going to help us with sitting our Brother trap. He will never see it coming!

Groundhog's Day Storm

The groundhogs would like me to see if all of you are enjoying the nice storm they arranged in honor of Groundhog's Day, today. I told them that it was probably a bit much, but for some reason the little fluffy things were sure that you would all just love a few feet of snow, to trap you in your homes so you will have plenty of time to consider the wonder that is the groundhog. Really, what loon came up with the idea of giving the groundhogs their own holiday, anyway? Was it the same person who thought up that Year of the Rabbit thing?

Groundhog Issues

The groundhogs just gave me some horrible news. It seems a large group of groundhogs live down where that Civil War thing took place last weekend, and so my groundhog siblings had the penguin chick drop off a few party invitations for them to be passed out while the human was poking at that awful tree. And in even worse news, these groundhogs live on a train line, so they can just hop a locomotive up here! One of them was spotted a few blocks away a couple of hours ago, and I'm sure he's a bad sign of further groundhogs to come.

Groundhogs Again

I don't know what in the world the groundhogs are putting on the invitations they're sending out to all of their little groundhog friends, but all I can say is that it is obviously not a map. I just found a post in another blog about a groundhog popping up in someone's garden, obviously one of my groundhog siblings' lost party guests. Granted, the house does have a pool beside the garden just like ours, so perhaps this groundhog has more reason than others to get confused, but still, he's totally off course, in a state hundreds of miles away. And you would think the lack of plates and forks by the garden would have clued him in, wouldn't you? I emailed the poor human that is stuck with him and told her to pop him onto the bus down here as soon as possible. I just hope he doesn't con her into hiring a taxi.

Rain Today

It's been raining pretty much off and on all day today. I knew I should have watched those rabbits closer last night to see what they were up to, but I got distracted by the groundhog gathering and making sure that more of their guests didn't turn up in cabs. Really, I need to get to the library to get a book on constructing rabbit snares, to try to keep the bunnies in line. My only concern is, though, that if I try to trot off down there, the bunnies and Betsy will surely insist I take some book lists along and pick up sacks for them. Perhaps I could beg my cat mother to go instead?

Groundhog Fourth of July

The groundhogs decided to have a little gathering in the backyard in honor of the fourth. Granted, their parties are fairly sedate in comparison to bunny gatherings, but still. One of their little groundhog guests showed up in a taxi and then that pesky little thing expected ME to pay his fare! I happen to know he was on a perfectly good bus line, and he should have taken that instead! He claims it was closed for the holiday, so the taxi was really needed, but I'm not so sure. I think he just didn't want to take public transportation.

Lost Groundhog

One of my groundhog siblings' little groundhog friends has managed to get himself lost. Someone just posted on the bunnies' mailing list that he's in their garden snacking on their beans, obviously thinking it's our yard and the site of the party he's been invited to. Those poor people should just count themselves lucky he hasn't knocked on their door yet to demand to know where the beverages are. Anyway, my siblings are debating right now the best way to get him down here where he belongs. Does anyone know how much the bus fare is for an out of town trip for a groundhog? Perhaps he could pretend to be a piece of luggage and stow away that way? I would demand he mail himself here to save money, but with how fat his kind tend to be, I shudder at the cost of postage.
